It's Y2k meets (damaged) pop star chic.
If you watched the premiere episode of The Idol—HBO's highly-anticipated drama starring Lily-Rose Depp and Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye—on Sunday night, you probably have... thoughts. From the sexually explicit nature of the series and the controversy surrounding director Sam Levinson to that scathing Rolling Stone exposé and The Weeknd's subsequent response, there's plenty to discuss.
One thing I think we can all agree on, though? The visuals are *truly* next-level. Much like Euphoria (also created by Levinson), The Idol features bright colors, flashing lights, trippy camera movements, and fantastic fashions. The looks are so good, in fact, that we've decided to help you recreate them. Keep scrolling to shop three of Lily-Rose Depp's most memorable outfits from episode one!
But first, if you haven't watched The Idol yet, here's the TLDR: The series follows Jocelyn (Depp), a troubled pop star who becomes entangled with a Hollywood "self-help guru" and underground cult leader named Tedros (The Weeknd). It's also important to note that Tedros wears his hair in a... wait for it... rat tail. Okay, now that you're up to speed, let's get into the lewks.
Episode one opens with Jocelyn doing a photoshoot for her new album while wearing a floor-length silk red robe with black lace trim. Amazon and Etsy have some very similar options at affordable price points, below!
After the photoshoot and a creative conflict with her intimacy coordinator that results in him being locked in the bathroom for hours (?)—plus a PR crisis surrounding an explicit photo of Jocelyn that leaked on the internet—the pop star has a dance rehearsal in her backyard. She dons an itty-bitty tie wrap bralette with a black mini skirt, sneakers, and retro cat-eye sunglasses.
During episode one, we also see Jocelyn hit the club with some friends, including her backup dancer Dyanne and creative director Xander (played by BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim and Troye Sivan, respectively). The singer wears a slinky baby blue mini dress by Aya Muse that has spaghetti straps and panel details. The colorway featured in the show is sold out, but we found the black version for you below! Style it with a black thong and chunky heels for the perfect Jocelyn-inspired going-out look.
Okay, that's all for episode one! Tune in every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET to watch The Idol on HBO—then check back here because we'll continue to update this story with more shoppable looks as the show goes on.
